Apple Arcade Will Arrive In Fall 2019

Apple unveiled its new video streaming and news subscription offerings on Monday as it looks to boost revenue from its services segment and usher in a new era for the tech titan. Apple is unveiling it at an event on Monday (US time) at its Cupertino, California headquarters.

Apple announced a new gaming subscription service called Apple Arcade that offers a library of titles for iOS users to play anywhere (even offline) for a monthly fee.

Apple got everybody talking Monday as they launched their brand new service, Apple News+, among an array of other things.

Apple has announced its upcoming gaming streaming service, appropriately dubbed Apple Arcade, which will be launching in Fall 2019. On the other hand, however, although it's not likely coming until later this year, Apple's own original content shouldn't have any licensing restrictions that would prevent global distribution, although there will obviously be language issues. The company also announced its own mostly-digital credit card and a subscription magazine option for its news app.

Notably, Apple says all games in this service will allow unlimited play and will have no in-app purchases, which are common on mobile games. The service will launch on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. "Many Canadians already engage with our content on Apple devices and we are looking forward to what this enhanced experience will bring".

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston spoke about The Morning Show at the Apple event.

According to CNN's Brian Stelter, the Journal component of Apple News+ will only include a "curated collection of general interest news" and could later extend to areas like video, voice, market data and AI.

Apple has promised that advertisers and Apple themselves will have no knowledge of what you read, and suggestions will be made by human curation and machine-learned personalization.
