After almost two years of programming deals and executive hires, Apple is now seemingly less than two weeks from unveiling its video streaming service.
After long-standing rumours about Apple's event for subscription services in March, the Cupertino-based company has finally confirmed about the same.
Details about the new service are being held closely under wraps by Apple, although it's believed the service will give iPad and iPhone users access to free original programming, as well as the option of opting into other streaming services like Showtime and Starz.

While Apple has kept quiet about aspirations in this area, it's been quietly acquiring the rights to TV shows for many months.
Sources previously told Reuters that the company is targeting April for the launch of a streaming television service that will likely include subscription TV service.
The TV service is expected to launch globally, an ambitious move to rival services from Netflix Inc and Amazon.com Inc's Prime Video.
Some reports said actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and "Star Wars" director J.J. Abrams would join Apple at the event.
Rumors suggest that Apple will pitch its video and magazine services as separate entities with separate prices, but it could offer a bundle that offers, say, both services and an Apple Music sub at a cheaper price.
The event will take place at 10 a.m.
