Boeing 737 from Addis to Nairobi crashes with 157 aboard

Four Indians were among 149 passengers who were killed when a Nairobi-bound Ethiopian Airlines aircraft crashed six minutes after take-off Sunday morning from Addis Ababa, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said.

Flight ET302 was six minutes outbound from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia when the global airport lost contact with the plane.

It added that search and rescue operations had been launched and that its officials were also checking for information on survivors and casualties.

Confirming the fatal accident, the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, expressed their deepest condolence to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the Sunday morning crash. Ethiopian Airlines confirmed "there are no survivors".
