GOP congressman challenges Cohen's 'racist' claim against Trump

"Michael Cohen, who worked for the president for 10 years, called his former boss a racist, a conman, and a cheat, but said he served him because being around Trump was "intoxicating" - but not in a bottle-of-wine kind of a [way], more of a cocktails-with-Cosby type of thing". "You have heard him call poorer countries s**tholes".

"I feel the wrong person apologized and I really, really, really am uncomfortable when women apologize when they didn't do anything wrong, when they were just speaking their mind, when they were speaking their truth".

"She loves this family, she came in because she felt like the President of the United States was getting falsely accused", Meadows said.

Patton sat down after Meadows' and Cohen's comments.

His bail was paid by a 47-year-old woman from the Chicago suburb of Romeoville, Illinois, according to the Chicago Tribune . Kelly has repeatedly denied any sexual misconduct, and he was acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008.

"You made some very demeaning comments about the president that Ms. Patton doesn't agree with", Meadows began, after Cohen lambasted the POTUS and noted several disparaging remarks Trump allegedly made about African-Americans and other minorities.

Patton - who was a guest of Meadows' at Michael Cohen's hearing before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday - told Fox & Friends on Thursday she would ask Tlaib why she would believe Cohen over herself.

The exchange led Democratic activists to resurface and circulate online a 2012 video of Meadows saying "we are going to send Mr. Obama home to Kenya or wherever it is", which is widely acknowledged as playing on racist, birther conspiracies levied against Barack Obama.

Reps. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Rashida Tlaib of MI embraced and chatted for nearly a minute as the House took its final votes of the week. "How do you reconcile that?" the lawmaker said.

Rendering Begum stateless would simply allow her recruiters to cast the British state in disparaging terms. She claimed the schoolgirls - Sharmeena Begum and the unnamed passenger - were on separate flights.

The Washington Post reports, "Lynne Patton's appearance during the hearing confused HUD employees, who were expecting her to show up to work Wednesday". "And to prop up one member of our entire race of black people and say that that nullifies that is truly insulting". "He confirmed to me (before Hardball had even gone off the air) that he does NOT have an audio tape of President Trump using the "N-word" and has NEVER had an audio tape of President Trump using the 'N-word.' Period".

Tlaib agreed with Cummings that was not her intention and said "I do apologize if that's what it sounded like, but I said someone in general, and as everyone knows in this chamber I'm pretty direct so I, if I wanted to say that I would've, but that's not what I said". "Today was about two people who know the president equally and who disagree about the way he is being characterized".

"The president sees successes and failures", she said.

The committee's chair, Rep. Elijah Cummings, who is black, ultimately sided with Meadows, and Tlaib clarified her comments to say that she did not intend to call Meadows racist.
