The idea that Donald Trump could have worked for Russian Federation is stupid

Speaking after a meeting in Geneva between Russian and US officials, Thompson said Moscow was refusing to allow proper inspection of a new Russian missile system that Washington says violates the bilateral treaty.

Russian Federation says the range puts it outside the treaty and the distance they can fly is not as long as Washington alleges, meaning Moscow is fully compliant with the INF Treaty.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov dismissed claims that President Donald Trump has been working on the Kremlin's behalf as he attacked Congress and the American media for undermining the USA leader.

Asked if Russia could release the minutes of Mr Trump's one-on-one negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mr Lavrov dismissed the idea, saying it defied the basic culture of diplomacy.

According to Radio Free Europe, Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov told reporters that the talks between Putin and Abe would not be easy.

Not winning the division not only cost the Chargers a first-round bye, but it pushed them all the way down to the 5-seed. The Cowboys defense ranked sixth in scoring, seventh in yards and allowed the fifth-fewest yards rushing in the NFL .

"We are still far not only from being partners in global relations but also in finding constructive ways to make our relations better", Lavrov said.

The United States has rejected a Russian proposal on saving a key Cold War arms control treaty because the pact can not be properly verified.

"Based on yesterday's discussions and corresponding rhetoric today, we see no indication that Russian Federation would choose compliance", Thompson told reporters. The Interfax news agency later carried the foreign ministry's statement saying that Mr Whelan's brother was not in the Russian capital.

He particularly scoffed at the charges leveled against Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, saying that he only talked to the Russian ambassador in a bid to protect USA interests.

Mr Lavrov noted that earlier this week, the U.S. had ignored Moscow's proposal to inspect a Russian missile that Washington claimed had violated a nuclear arms treaty.

"Disappointingly but unsurprisingly we weren't able to break any new ground" in the Geneva talks, Thompson told reporters after briefing North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies in Brussels.

Whelan, a former US marine who also holds British, Canadian and Irish passports, was detained by Russia's Federal Security Service on December 28 on spying charges.

"These are not pre-conditions, it's just an effort to understand why Japan is the only country in the world which can not say: "I accept the results of World War Two in their entirety", Lavrov told a news conference.

He said Whelan was caught red-handed and the investigation is ongoing.

Lavrov promised USA diplomats can make a second visit to the detainee, and an Irish diplomat will also be visiting him soon.
