Jose Mourinho opens up on top-four chances

Chelsea assistant Marco Ianni has been fined £6,000 by the Football Association for celebrating in front of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after admitting a charge of improper conduct.

United are battling in eighth place in the Premier League - nine points behind Manchester City and Liverpool - and some of their displays have led to Mourinho coming under fire.

Chelsea and Manchester United was probably the most entertaining Premier League match this season. However, they are unbeaten in three league games, including wins over Newcastle United and Everton.

Forwards Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez were among the substitutes against Everton last weekend, and Mourinho said the pair are in a much better condition to play a role at Bournemouth.

Manchester United came unstuck at Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham United on the road to raise questions about their defence in away fixtures.

"But in this moment we are outside top four, so the point is now to get the points we need to try and be, in the end of December in a better position than we are in now at this moment". We are on good form.

A title challenge seems a pipedream at present.

Le'Veon Bell Not Expected to Return to the Steelers This Week
In his absence, second-year runner James Conner has morphed into a workhorse as both a runner and pass-catcher. Additionally, Bell is costing himself money by not returning during the bye week.

"He said sorry immediately and it was really very important I think that he realised he was wrong", Sarri said. "And so I think that I want to give him another opportunity".

Mourinho had been under intense pressure heading into the Newcastle game at Old Trafford amid speculation he would be sacked, regardless of the result, with United not having won any of their four previous matches.

The full written reasons are likely to be published next week, when the FA's disciplinary department will consider whether to lodge an appeal.

"The reason why I asked the club and the lawyers to appeal was because I was 100 per cent that I was not guilty of these charges", said the 55-year-old.

That was the Dodgers' first run since the first inning. "The play at first today is a pretty dirty play", Shaw said. Then with two outs and a full count, Bellinger ripped a single to right field to score Machado and win the game.
