Donald Trump warns his impeachment would cause U.S. economy to crash

He blamed Mr Sessions for what he called corruption in the top USA law enforcement agency, saying: "I put in an attorney-general who never took control of the Justice Department".

"One of the reasons I respect Paul Manafort so much is he went through that trial", Trump said.

US President Donald Trump said in an interview aired yesterday that the US economy would collapse if he were impeached. "Number two, I don't think that this rises to the level of high crimes or misdemeanors, that's a really high standard", he said. We made note of their reporting here. "For 30, 40 years I've been watching flippers", Mr Trump said.

Cohen, who served as Trump's personal attorney and worked in his Trump Organization, pleaded guilty Tuesday to eight counts that included tax fraud and campaign finance violations.

The supposed counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election now has more spinoffs than Happy Days without ever getting to the alleged campaign collusion that prompted it.

Hawaii hit by tropical cylone as Hurricane Lane reaches land today
Even if the center of Lane remains offshore, severe impacts could still be realized as they extend well away from the center. The hurricane's outer rain bands have lashed eastern parts of the island with three inches of rain falling in three hours.

Paul Manafort doesn't remotely deserve a pardon, and President Trump and Rudy Giuliani are treading extremely risky ground in publicly floating the idea.

According to the report, the Manhattan District Attorney is looking at what role the organization may have had in the arrangement of payments Michael Cohen made to women who claimed to have had sexual relationships with Donald Trump.

Cohen had said Tuesday he secretly used shell companies to make payments used to silence former Playboy model Karen McDougal and adult-film actress Stormy Daniels for the goal of influencing the 2016 election.

Because the hush payments were meant to influence the outcome of the elections, they violated United States laws governing campaign contributions.

In entering a guilty plea, Cohen said under oath that the payments were made "in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office", in clear reference to Trump. But he insisted he only knew about payments "later on", contradicting his former lawyer's sworn statement that Trump had directed him to make the payments.

Oscars announce new popular film category
Last year's telecast hit an all-time low in ratings with just 26.5 million viewers, a drop of 20% from the previous year. In a tweet Wednesday morning, the Academy announced it's planning a new category "around achievement in popular film ".

"Campaign violations are considered not a big deal, frankly", he said.

All of this, as Congressional Republicans have not even hinted that they will investigate Cohen's claims regarding Trump's actions.

The excerpts have not included a clip of Mr Trump saying he would consider pardoning Manafort.

"I will stay uninvolved and maybe that's the best thing to do", he said in the interview. Trump said, adding that Sessions "never took control of the Justice Department".

The U.S. Justice Department has long taken the position that a sitting president is exempt from indictment.

White House to Reimpose Iran Sanctions as Protests Rock Regime
The sanctions are expected to take the form of a secondary boycott that would apply to companies and countries trading with Iran. Trump has said he would be willing to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani anytime without preconditions.

Mr Trump argued the move would have dire economic consequences.
