North Korea 'working on new missiles'

"After so many years, this will be a great moment for so many families".

The agency identifies remains of servicemen killed in past conflicts.

Typically, the agency's forensic anthropologists study any evidence found with the remains for clues, such as military uniforms, identification tags and personal items like wedding rings.

Fifty-five boxes, topped with blue United Nations flags, were handed over at Wonsan, North Korea, last week and flown to a US base in South Korea.

Vice President Mike Pence, whose father fought in the Korean War, was scheduled to attend an "honorable carry ceremony" at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to mark the arrival of the remains on USA soil.

"It is Kim doing exactly what he said he was going to do".

Hundreds of Syrian White Helmets evacuated to Jordan by Israeli army
VideoIncredibly, this young girl was pulled alive from rubble in the Syrian city of Douma, after intense aerial bombardments. The Syrian government began a major offensive in June to retake rebel-held areas in the Deraa and Quneitra areas.

The remains had been transferred from the small boxes they arrived in on Friday into full-sized caskets, draped with United Nations flags.

Former DPAA official Jeong Yang-seung, who previously worked on identifying U.S. remains from the North, said it was unusual to locate dog tags during the search and recovery process.

North Korea is continuing to build new missiles, according to USA officials cited by the Washington Post. But North Korea provided only a single military dog tag with the 55 boxes.

The repatriation is a breakthrough in a long-stalled U.S. effort to obtain war remains from North Korea.

"We too remain concerned" by North Korean violations of UN-approved sanctions, the U.S. official said.

The meeting also saw officials discussing matters involving relations between North and South Korea, as well as regional issues.

Amazon's website crashes right as its Prime Day began
Stepping back to the second quarter of 2017, ecommerce had 14.6% YoY growth in the US , with a major spike around Memorial Day. July 17 was the biggest sales day for smart home devices in Amazon history, with over a million devices sold.

"UNC never leaves troops behind, living or deceased, and will continue the mission of repatriation until every service member returns home", it added.

A U.S. military transport aircraft on Friday flew the remains from the North Korean city of Wonsan, a first step in implementing an agreement reached at a landmark summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump in June. The government has said only that the UN Security Council -where China and the USA both wield vetoes - should revisit sanctions after Kim's meeting with Trump.

In Singapore, Kim Jong Un committed to work "towards the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" in a signed joint statement with Trump, but there are signs that North Korea does not interpret that phrase to entail its unilateral disarmament. He declared that North Korea is "no longer a nuclear threat". The US has repeatedly rejected global calls for sanctions relief on North Korea.

"Offer up 20 first-gen warheads, claim you are or have disarmed, but keep the good stuff in presumably clandestine facilities and hope they aren't discovered", Narang said. But many experts say those are neither irrevocable nor serious steps that could show the country is honest about denuclearization. Pyongyang has appeared open to discussions surrounding its status as a nuclear state following meetings with both South Korea and the United States.

But they did not agree on details, which will be further discussed through working-level talks, the ministry said.
