PM Modi congratulates Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeemul Haque on Sunday said President Ashraf Ghani has invited Pakistan's Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan to visit Kabul, according to a Geo news report.

In a telephonic conversation, Modi expressed hope that democracy will take deeper roots in Pakistan, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

PTI chief Khan - who himself alleged widespread rigging in 2013 - has said his party will fully cooperate with any investigations into the electoral process.

The PTI has broken the duopoly held by the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for decades.

Other parties which will have representation in the NA are the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) with three members, and Jamhoori Watan Party, Awami National Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaniyat with one seat each.
