Anne Frank's dirty jokes revealed

Leopold and a senior researcher on the project, Peter de Bruijn, both expressed to the Times the value of the uncovered diary pages for offering more insight into Anne Frank's development as a writer rather than for the content she wrote about.

She was 13 when she went into hiding from the Nazis with her family.

"I sometimes imagine that someone might come to me and ask me to inform him about sexual matters", Anne Frank wrote on the pages."How would I go about it?" They faced hunger, the cruelties of living in confined quarters, and the threat of discovery and death.

The two newly revealed pages were written in Frank's first diary, with a red plaid cover, on September 28, 1942, when she was 13 years old. But today it was revealed what lied behind the covered up pages. "They bring us even closer to the girl and the writer Anne Frank".

Afghan troops repel Taliban in savage street fighting
Deadly clashes re-erupted in Farah early morning as the Taliban launched a second round of coordinated assaults in the week. Public health officials said that at least 15 people, including a child, had been killed and 42 wounded.

With new photo-imaging software, researchers at the Anne Frank House, in conjunction with the two other Dutch institutes Leopold mentioned, were able to see through the concealment.

The Anne Frank House, a museum located in Frank's former hiding place, did not quote directly from the text it had recovered.

In addition to the jokes, Anne summarizes what a period is, describes the mechanics of sex in couched terms, and relays what she has heard of prostitution.

"She starts with an imaginary person whom she is telling about sex, so she creates a kind of literary environment to write about a subject she's maybe not comfortable with", he said. Anne herself presumably pasted the paper over the written pages, though it's not clear when or why.

The announcement came just over 24 hours after polls closed across the country amid record low voter turnout. But no party is likely to win a majority needed to choose the prime minister and form the government.

Her father Otto was the only member of the family to survive the war.

"Anne's diary texts show that she had gleaned information on the subject of sexuality from her parents, especially her father, from her friend Jacqueline and from books", the statement reads.

Anne died at Bergen-Belsen in Germany in early 1945, aged 15, less than a year after her capture and just before the end of the war.

The pages were first discovered in 2016 in her first diary with a red-checked cover. It is now considered one of the most important documents to have emerged from the Holocaust, and has been read by millions of people and translated into 60 languages.
