Lois Riess, 56, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, is wanted in connection with two murders.
According to authorities, Riess was arrested at 8:25 central time on South Padre Island and is now sitting in the South Padre City jail.
Speaking at a press conference Friday, Lee County, Fla.
Riess was a regular there, said one casino employee, and has been accused in Minnesota state court affidavits of stealing money from her disabled sister to spend at the casino, though she was never charged with a crime. "So she seemed to have let her guard down a bit", he said.

Authorities say a woman suspected in the deaths of her husband and a woman in Florida had checked into a South Texas tourist town motel and was socializing in a bar when she was arrested.
Police fear the "armed and dangerous" woman may kill again and have warned members of the public not to approach her. She had been shot to death, presumably by the same gun that Reiss had used to fatally shoot her husband.
She had been seen on March 23 at a convenience store and casino in northern Iowa.
Whether or not Riess will be returned to Lee County to face charges is still being worked out between Florida and Texas officials.
Riess was arrested on warrants for second-degree murder, grand theft, grand theft of a vehicle and criminal use of personal identification. That's where investigators allege she killed 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson of Bradenton, Florida. Hutchinson's ID, credit cards and vehicle were missing from her home. It is a white 2005 Acura TL with Florida license plate Y37TAA.

Authorities say an eyewitness spotted a woman matching Riess' description at a restaurant on South Padre Island.
