Clinton, Trump clash in third and final presidential debate

Despite the unprecedented number of anti-LGBT bills introduced into statehouses, moderators at the general-election vice presidential and presidential debates have so far failed to ask a single question on LGBT equality.

Wednesday night, Chris Wallace, an Emmy award victor who has spent more than 40-years in broadcast journalism, will become the first Fox News host ever to moderate a presidential debate. The presence of any Fox News personality on the presidential debate stage, even one with Wallace's sterling reputation, would normally be cause for controversy and complaint among progressives who view anyone with the Fox imprimatur as inherently biased. Some have complained about Wallace's involvement, saying that it's a conflict of interest considering Fox News' ex-CEO, Roger Ailes, recently started serving as an adviser for Donald Trump. He is now the host of the Fox News program, Fox News Sunday.

Shortly after Wallace was announced as the moderator of the final general election debate, Fox News host Howard Kurtz asked Wallace what he planned to do if the nominees "make assertions that you know are untrue". Getting that out of the way as early as possible, Wallace will move on to subjects created to get the debate on territory friendly to Republicans running downballot. "I think you're a fair interviewer". The first debate was the most-watched of all-time.

But as one of three moderators of the March 3 Republican primary debate in Michigan, Wallace laid what The Washington Post described as "a bear trap" for Trump, inviting him to repeat one of his fictitious campaign claims that Wallace promptly refuted with a full-screen chart. Fox still had a bumpy ride in securing this week's moderating duties. The platform is hosting live broadcasts from the major news networks and two national newspapers. Bernie Sanders for a town hall.

Netflix soars 20% as new subscribers stream in
Netflix users have long hankered after an offline mode so they can watch shows on the tube, planes and areas with no Wi-Fi. Netflix said it added more customers than it expected primarily because of "excitement around Netflix original content".

The third and final presidential debate is finally here and is taking place tonight (Wednesday, October 19) at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

Mr Wallace, who is 69, has admitted that having a journalist as famous as his father once was as a stalwart of the CBS Sunday evening current affairs magazine 60 Minutes was a mixed blessing for him as he forged his own way in the same industry. The candidates and the Commission on Presidential Debates, which selects the moderators, will not know the questions beforehand. "And we all felt very comfortable that he would do a good job".

While Wallace has said his job as moderator isn't to be the "truth squad", he backtracked a bit in an interview with Fox News' Brit Hume after NBC News' Matt Lauer hosted a forum with Clinton and Trump that received criticism.

The commission was established in 1987 to produce presidential and vice presidential debates.

Chibok girls reunite with parents
He appealed to the government to put all necessary machinery in place to ensure the release of the other girls. It was a day for tears of joy and emotion, when the 21 Chibok girls were reunited with their parents.

Chris Wallace, 69, has worked in journalism since college when he was just a young man studying at Harvard. "This is a debate", he said. He's also stayed out of the network's coverage of the previous debates.

Wallace's performance will also be analyzed for what it might suggest about the future direction of Fox News Channel. "So since [the first debate at] Hofstra [University], he's been pretty quiet". But much of the scrutiny stems from the fact that Trump is especially fact-challenged; Politifact has rated numerous Trump statements "pants on fire" - making real-time fact-checking a hot-button issue this time around.

For his part, Wallace has said of Trump: "The media has treated him too well". "If one of them is filibustering, I'm going to try to break in respectfully and give the other person a chance to talk". Jay Wallace brushes off the notion that his anchor would in any way be influenced by his previous boss. I'd like to ask questions that are harder.

"I've got a couple of more days", he explained. Of course, covering the voting process is only going to open up new cans of worms. "If anybody is, it's Chris".
