Adblock Plus Finds A Way Around Facebook's Ad Blocker Blocking Attempts

The makers of Adblock Plus (ABP) have already found a way to defeat Facebook's anti-ad-block tools.

Adblock Plus, one of the most popular ad blockers, announced today that they've managed to find a way to block Facebook's cleverly disguised ads.

Announcing its stance on ad blockers, Facebook conceded that these "have been the best options to date" to address bad ads. Users of the ad-blocking software can simply update their filter lists to begin blocking ads on Facebook again.

Indians' Santana struck in dugout by foul ball, helped away
The Angels fell to 49-65 on the season and have now lost seven in a row as they remain in last place in the American League West. In their seven-game losing streak the Angels have been outscored 45-21. "He's tougher on us than anybody", Scioscia said.

In a blog post, Adblock spokesperson Ben Williams wrote that "this sort of back-and-forth battle between the open source ad-blocking community and circumventers has been going on since ad blocking was invented", and that it is possible Facebook would come up with its own fix soon.

Facebook said the update will also begin showing ads on Facebook desktop for users who are now using ad blocking software, in a bid to promote "creative, relevant, and interesting" ads. Though it is only their desktop traffic that is affected by the blockers and the bigger part of the company's revenue comes from mobile device traffic.

Adblock Plus notes that this - like most of the tech interventions in the ongoing battle between online web properties and ad blockers - is likely to be a "cat-and-mouse game".

The social network argues that it is balancing out the force-fed-nature of the ads by also giving folks tighter control over what information can be shared with advertisers and what topics the targeted ads will cover.

US worker productivity falls in Q2 , causing annual decline
Worker efficiency fell 0.4 per cent in the second quarter from the same time in 2015, while labour costs climbed 2.1 per cent. On a more positive note, revisions to data going back to 2014 showed that productivity grew by 0.9% in 2015 and not 0.7%.

The euphoria of Facebook anti-ad blocker seems to be under challenge as barely two days later ad blockers are back in action with a powerful ad blocker-blocker.

"We also heard that people want to be able to stop seeing ads from businesses or organizations who have added them to their customer lists, and so we are adding tools that allow people to do this", Bosworth wrote.

Two days ago, Social Barrel reported that Facebook started blocking ad blockers.

Adblock Plus is perhaps the most widely known software that filters all types of ads from websites.

Biggins was given a formal sanction from Big Brother following the comments, which were not shown on TV. He added: "That's what I've read and that's what I believe".

In a statement to TechCrunch, Facebook pointed out that ad-blocking software is "punishing" users, as it blocks not only these new advertisements, but also posts from friends and followed Pages - content users would presumably still like to see.
